| When a shipment is going to Guatemala by sea, a set of documents needs to be legalized as follows: |
| |
- One set of original documents that should include the commercial invoice, bill of lading, and any other documents that make up the container being shipped.
- One set of copies for the Consulate's records of the above documents.
- Please send the documents to the corresponding Guatemalan Consulate according to the port of loading.

Veterinary certificates |
| |
To travel with your pet to Guatemala, you will need a health certificate from the veterinarian with specific information regarding the following vaccines: Dogs: Rabies, distemper, leptospirosis, parvovirosis and hepatitis.
Cats: Rabies, distemper, FVR (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis), FCV (Feline Calici Virus), FIP (Feline Pneumonilis, Feline Leukemia)
Birds: Psittacosis (blood test). Horses: Hoof and mouth disease and certificate of good health.
The certificate from the veterinarian has to be authenticated by either of the following offices before its presented to the Consular Office: |

| Guidelines to send human remains to guatemala |
| |
When someone passes away in the United States and the family wants to send the body to Guatemala, the Funeral Home that is handling the process needs to present the following documents, in order to legalized them, prior to the departure of the human remains:
- Two certified copies of the death certificate.
- Burial transit permit issued by the health authorities.
- Letter of no contagious diseases issued by the health authorities.
- Embalmer's affidavit.
- A certificate issued by those who closed and sealed the casket, stating that the casket is hermetically sealed.
- Original and two photocopies of any form of ID of the deceased (Birth Certificate, Passport, “Cedula de Vecindad”, etc.)
- Documents listed under # 3, 4 & 5 must be notarized and authenticated by the County Clerk.

contact our office if they wish to speak to a consular
agent about their case.
